I found CrossFit around 2008. My brother is in the military and came home from a deployment and told me I was going to start working out with him. We are both very competitive and it fueled our desire to work hard. Fast forward about two years and I aligned myself with a local CrossFit gym in Albany, Georgia. That’s where I found my passion for coaching. I experienced a new kind of fulfillment that I couldn’t find with my regular job. I have an extremely supportive wife who unquestionably followed me to North Carolina to follow my dream of opening a gym. That was the winter of 2012. From then on I have been devoted to bringing change to everyone who walks through my doors. I count myself very lucky to be in a profession that still gets me excited every day I come in to work.

I am originally from Charleston, SC, where I received my degree in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston. Teaching kindergarten and second grade, as well as gifted and struggling learners rounded out my experience in the classroom. After moving to North Carolina, I found my passion changing slightly. I now work for Brain Balance Achievement Centers, where I can help struggling children succeed through sensory stimulation, nutrition, and exercise!

Growing up I heard the term “coach” used a lot. My granddad is one of those coaches in my family. He is someone I will always look up to. As a coach of multiple sports, he had the opportunity to work with many individuals. Seeing how he’s made such a positive impact on those individuals is inspiring and part of the reason I started coaching.

I received my Crossfit Level 1 Certification in 2013. Over the last 5 year of coaching, I have learned a lot. I’ve worked with adults and children of all ages. With each class and every individual lies opportunity to learn and grow. Some of my favorite things about coaching are getting the opportunity to be a positive experience in someone else’s day and encouraging others to be the best individual they can be in that moment.

I try to balance work, fitness, and life through visits to Uganda ministering to school aged children and vulnerable mothers, and by spending time with my adventurous husband, Grant, and our two dogs, Cocoa and Trooper.

I have been doing Crossfit since I was 15 years old and have been coaching for the last three. I started Crossfit for off season football training and loved it. After high school sports Crossfit became my sport to fill my time. I enjoy every aspect of it and love to grow every time I’m in the gym. My goal as a coach is to educate, entertain, and inspire you daily. I have coached at 3 different gyms and I have the tools necessary to make your Crossfit experience the best it can be. Looking forward to seeing you all at the gym.

I have been doing CrossFit since 2013. I started of doing it for fun, then recently caught the competition bug and haven’t looked back. I strive to push myself to reach my fullest potential and always try to push everyone to do their best. As I have continued my journey through CrossFit I learned it isn’t just a workout regiment, but it is a change in lifestyle. I hope that everyone is able to reach their fitness goals and have life changing experiences while at New Order.

Like many in the area, I’m not from these parts. Originally from Long Island, New York, I grew up in a large family where sports were everything. PE was my favorite class as a kid, and not much has changed since. After finishing my college running career where I competed as a heptathlete, I dabbled in challenges like half marathons. Fast forward to 2013 and CrossFit finally found me. From my first community WOD, I was hooked. Within months I earned my Level 1 certification with my CrossFit Kids certification soon to follow. Being in a CrossFit facility is like being back on the playground like when we were kids. There are tons of ways to push and challenge yourself and as you do, incredible growth and development occurs, not just physically but mentally as well. I have coached track and field and cross country for a number of years and with various age groups. Making the transition to coaching CrossFit and all that it entails was a natural progression.

Former pageant girl, but still the queen

I am a fitness enthusiast and aspiring entrepreneur. I currently work as a Wellness Coordinator for EXOS and am also the Communication Coordinator and Social Media Guru for New Order CrossFit. I also own a health coaching and personal training business, Healing in Motion, LLC.

I began CrossFit 3 years ago when I was preparing to compete for Miss North Carolina. I never thought I’d fall in love with the sport but after competing I hung up my pageant shoes and bought my first pair of Nano’s. Since then I have competed in a few CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting competitions. When I am not in the gym, I am usually in the kitchen making up new recipes or just looking for chocolate.

Julie Gimbert

CrossFit Level 1

I am from Greensboro, NC, and currently live in Raleigh while studying Business Administration at NC State University. I started doing CrossFit with my dad around age 14, when most CrossFit classes took place in somebody’s basement and I was swinging the 10lb kettlebell. I developed a passion for fitness and nutrition which only grew when I came to college and started working out at New Order CrossFit.

I received my CrossFit Level 1 Certification in October of 2016. I love learning about new ways to help people achieve their fitness goals and hope that I can have a positive influence on every athlete I get to coach. My favorite thing about coaching CrossFit is getting to be a part of such a diverse community and also getting to help be a leader in that community.

I spend most of my free time at the gym, with friends, or exploring Raleigh with my dog, Ryder, who is basically my child (find him at the box chasing tennis balls in between classes).
